What Makes a Great J. Baby Surrogate

To ensure every journey is safe and supported, surrogates must meet a few essential guidelines. You may be a good fit if you:

    Every journey begins with a connection. We’ll meet virtually to discuss your goals, review your compensation package, and outline the process in detail. By the time you say yes, you’ll have complete peace of mind knowing you made the right choice.

  • Step 2 - Medical Records Review

    We’ll review your pregnancy and birth history to confirm your eligibility. Our partner clinic will assess your records, and you’ll complete a psychological evaluation and background check — ensuring you’re ready in body, mind, and spirit.

  • Step 3 - Match with Intended Parents

    Once approved, we’ll introduce you to Intended Parents who align with your preferences and values. You’ll review each other’s profiles, meet virtually, and once both sides agree — the match is official.

  • Step 4 - Medical Clearance

    You’ll visit the IVF clinic for your initial exam, bloodwork, and ultrasound. After review, your doctor will confirm medical clearance to move forward with the embryo transfer.

  • Step 5 - Legal and Insurance

    Following clearance, independent attorneys will represent you and your Intended Parents to ensure a fair, transparent agreement. All maternity, life, and disability insurance is handled and covered by your Intended Parents.

  • Step 6 - The Cycle Begins

    Once your cycle calendar is finalized, you’ll begin medications to prepare for transfer. Within a few weeks, your embryo transfer will take place, followed by your first ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.

J. Baby began with our own IVF journey. Founders Kenji Saito and Michael Lacoe became parents through surrogacy, welcoming two sons thanks to the generosity of their surrogates.

How much you earn as a surrogate depends on your experience, but compensation at J. Baby starts at $60,000 for first-time surrogates and $70,000 for experienced surrogates. Additional benefits are included to support you throughout your journey.
