Step 6 – The Egg Donor Cycle Begins
Learn what happens during the egg donor cycle at J. Baby, including fertility medications, monitoring appointments, egg retrieval, and when compensation is released.
Preparing for Retrieval with Care and Support
With your legal agreement finalized, you’re ready to begin the final phase of your egg donor journey. This step marks the start of your medical cycle and the preparation for egg retrieval — a milestone that brings everything together.
Throughout this stage, your IVF clinic closely monitors your progress, and the J. Baby team remains by your side to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.
What Happens During Your Egg Donor Cycle
Your cycle officially begins on Day 1, defined as the day you start your fertility medications. These medications are self-administered injections taken daily for approximately 10 to 14 days.
During this period, your IVF clinic will closely monitor your progress through:
- Ultrasounds to track follicle development
- Bloodwork to monitor hormone levels
These appointments allow your doctor to fine-tune the timing of your cycle and ensure your body is responding safely and effectively. Once everything is ready, your egg retrieval procedure is scheduled.
The retrieval itself is a short, outpatient procedure performed by your clinic. After the procedure is complete, your agreed-upon compensation is released — along with sincere appreciation from both the Intended Parents and the J. Baby team for your generosity and commitment.
Why This Step Matters
This step is the culmination of everything you’ve prepared for. It’s where intention becomes action — and where your role directly helps make a family possible. By this stage, every safeguard is in place, and your journey is supported by experienced medical professionals and a team that values your time, well-being, and contribution.
What to Expect After the Egg Retrieval
Once the retrieval is complete, your active role in the cycle concludes. While your medical involvement ends here, the impact of your donation continues — creating opportunity, hope, and possibility for an Intended Parent. If questions arise during or after your cycle, the J. Baby team remains available to support you.
