Step 7 – Pregnancy and Birth
Understand the cycle phase of surrogacy with J. Baby by your side, including medication schedules, embryo transfer preparation, and pregnancy confirmation.
Supporting You Through Every Stage
Once pregnancy is confirmed, you enter one of the most meaningful phases of your surrogacy journey — carrying a baby for the Intended Parents you’ve come to know and care for. Step 7 focuses on ongoing check-ins, medical monitoring, emotional support, and preparing for the birth.
Through it all, J. Baby remains by your side, ensuring you feel safe, informed, and supported every step of the way.
What to Expect During Pregnancy
Pregnancy during surrogacy is similar to any pregnancy — but with added layers of communication, connection, and support. Here is how this stage typically unfolds:
The First Trimester
During the early weeks, you’ll continue working closely with your IVF doctor and nursing team. They will monitor:
- Hormone levels
- Early fetal development
- Implantation health
- Any signs of complications
These check-ins ensure your pregnancy is progressing safely and give your Intended Parents peace of mind as well.
Transition to Your OB
At the start of the second trimester, you’ll be released from the IVF clinic and begin seeing your personal OB for routine prenatal care. This transition is smooth and well-coordinated — your OB receives your medical records and monitoring notes so care continues seamlessly.
Staying Connected With Intended Parents
Throughout the pregnancy, you’ll be in frequent communication with your Intended Parents. Many surrogates describe this as one of the most rewarding parts of the journey — sharing milestones, sending updates, and building a meaningful relationship that often lasts long after the birth.
Whether your connection is warm and personal or more structured and professional, J. Baby supports whatever communication style feels comfortable for both parties.
J. Baby’s Role During Pregnancy
Even though your primary medical care is handled by your OB and clinic, J. Baby never steps away. Our team stays closely involved to ensure you:
- Feel emotionally supported
- Have quick access to answers
- Know what to expect in every trimester
- Feel safe and comfortable speaking up about any needs
- Receive help troubleshooting challenges
- Have someone advocating for you, always
From the day you join the program to the moment of delivery, we’re committed to being a constant, reliable source of care, respect, and encouragement.
Preparing for Birth
The final weeks bring anticipation, preparation, and excitement. Your OB will guide you through birth planning, and we’ll work with you and your Intended Parents to ensure everyone understands expectations around:
- Delivery preferences
- Who will be present
- Communication during labor
- Hospital policies
- Post-birth bonding and recovery
We make sure you feel empowered, respected, and appreciated during this life-changing moment.
The Moment Everyone Has Been Waiting For
The nine months will go by faster than you think — and before you know it, you’ll help bring a beautiful baby into the world. This moment is emotional, meaningful, and unforgettable for both you and the family you’ve helped create.
As a surrogate, you play a central role in helping Intended Parents fulfill their dream of having a child. Your generosity, strength, and commitment will change their lives forever.
