Step 6 – The Embryo Transfer and Pregnancy

The Sixth Step in Your J. Baby Surrogacy Journey

You’ve reached one of the most meaningful phases of your journey — Step 6 – Embryo Transfer and Early Pregnancy. With contracts signed and insurance secured, your surrogate officially begins her medical cycle.

This stage brings anticipation, close monitoring, and the first real medical progress toward pregnancy.

What This Step is Really Designed To Do

This phase helps you:

  • Understand how your surrogate’s cycle is structured
  • Follow the medical steps leading to embryo transfer
  • Know what monitoring includes and why timing matters
  • Prepare emotionally for transfer day
  • Understand how pregnancy confirmation works

Beginning the Cycle

The cycle begins on Day 1, when your surrogate starts fertility medications to prepare her uterine lining. Your IVF clinic closely monitors her progress through bloodwork and ultrasounds.

Timing the Embryo Transfer

Once her lining is ready — typically within 10 to 14 days — the embryo transfer is scheduled. During this time, you’ll receive updates from your clinic and the J. Baby team.

The transfer itself is a simple, painless procedure for your surrogate, but an incredibly emotional milestone for Intended Parents.

The Two-Week Wait and Pregnancy Confirmation

After transfer, your surrogate enters the waiting period before pregnancy testing. Bloodwork confirms whether implantation has occurred.

If pregnancy is confirmed, a heartbeat ultrasound is performed approximately 2–3 weeks later to assess early viability.

Why This Step Matters

This stage represents the emotional heart of the surrogacy journey. It marks the transition from preparation to progress and brings the first confirmation that your dream of parenthood is becoming real.

Ready for What Comes Next?

Once pregnancy is confirmed, your journey moves into prenatal care and ongoing support as you prepare to welcome your baby.

If you’re ready to continue, the J. Baby team is here to guide you with clarity and care.
